If you’re in recovery, or have a family member who is suffering from addiction, don’t go it alone.
Alcoholism is a family disease. While addiction is hard on any family, it can be especially hard on family members who might also be struggling with their own anxieties, or life transitions. And it can certainly intensify the challenges of every day life struggles and be the cause or of overwhelm and exhaustion.
I’m here to support and help you, or your family, one day at a time. I’ve utilized time-tested methods to helped support countless people over the years face the daily challenges of addiction.
If you’re a family member:
I like to utilize the 3c’s model: I didn’t cause it. I can’t cure it and I can’t control it. I also encourage 12-step programs such as Al-Anon, to provide validation and support. Together, we can walk through ways to support your loved one without losing yourself.
If you’re in recovery:
I strongly encourage a solid plan and support system for continued sobriety, following the principles of programs like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. Therapy can be a key part of this support and I’m here to help.
